Credible, trustworthy and familiar, those are some words used to describe this well-known Houston voice. Christine Dobbyn is an experienced broadcast journalist who has trained to transfer her on-air skills into voice over acting. Specializing in corporate, internet, educational and narration work, she’s a veteran at explaining difficult topics in a very clear, concise and condensed form.
The multiple Emmy Award winning journalist worked as a major market television reporter for more than a decade. While working at the ABC station in Houston she covered stories including Hurricanes Harvey, Ike, Katrina and Rita, the Royal Wedding in London, the Pope’s visit to NYC and Cuba, the Deepwater Horizon explosion and oil spill and the death of the King of Pop in LA.
She’s also been recognized by the Houston Press Club, Society of Professional Journalists, the RIAS Berlin International Commission, the Texas, Ohio and Indiana Associated Press, the Gracie Awards, Clarion Awards, and Edward R. Murrow Awards.
Christine’s vocal expertise goes beyond the spoken voice. She’s an experienced singer, having trained with several vocal coaches over the years and performed on stages in Texas, Ohio and Indiana. Early in her post-college career she sang her way to the finals of Miss Indiana as the Miss Indianapolis representative.
When not working she enjoys time with her friends and family. She also likes to challenge her fitness abilities and has completed five half-marathons and two BP MS 150 charity rides from Houston to Austin.
She holds a BA degree from Ball State University in Indiana in broadcast journalism and will graduate in May of 2020 with her MBA from Rice University in Houston.
